After the work of Badrul Alam and Saeed Haider, the construction of the Shaheed Minar was completed from afternoon to night. Under the leadership of Abul Bashar, the vastness of the Shaheed Minar was expanded from the triangle to the quadrangle.

In 1983 the Shaheed Minar got its current shape, the marble stones were used in some damaged areas of the wall.

According to the planning at that time, a museum and a library were also built in the Shaheed Minar area. On August 25, 2010, the High Court issued nine instructions for the management and maintenance of Shaheed Minar and ordered the construction of the museum and library. The sculptors Hamidur Rahman and Novera Ahmed have started to design and implement the Shaheed Minar. But the following year, when martial law was announced, construction was halted to complete the bases, platform, and some of the pillars. But The united front government was unable to implement its decision since it was ousted from power on May 30 of the same year.

Since only Hamidur Rahman is recognized as the architect of the Shaheed Minar, Novera Ahmed’s historical contribution was covered up, which eventually led to controversy over the actual designer of the monument.

On August 25, 2010, the Supreme Court issued nine guidelines for the maintenance and renovation of Shaheed Minar and asked the Public Works Department to build a museum and library on the site. It is also one of the major tourist attractions in Dhaka and is visited by thousands of tourists all year round. Special care is taken every year on February 21 (Ekushey February). Subsequently, artists from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Dhaka University paint the rooms of the Central Shaheed Minar with elaborate patterns.

The foundation stone for the Shaheed Minar was laid on February 21, 1956, for the second time by Abu Hossain Sarkar, the then Prime Minister of East Pakistan, together with Maulana Abdul Hamid khan Bhasani and Hasina Begum, the mother of the martyr Abul Barkat. At the same time, February 21 was officially declared Shaheed Day and a public holiday. The fence is painted on both sides with lines from poems by legendary poets in iron letters. When visitors enter the memorial, they find two statues of the patriots who lost their lives in the tragic 1952 police shot.

The rapid repair of the Shaheed Minar led to the Minar being incorrectly constructed. The height of the pillar was shorter and the head more curved than originally planned, and the proportions of the different parts of the monument were not maintained correctly. The sculptor Hamidur Rahman designed the Shaheed Minar, the construction of which began in 1957.

There should also be yellow and deep blue glass panes in the columns, symbolizing the eyes reflecting the sun. The marble floor was designed to reflect the moving shadows of the columns. A railing decorated with the Bengali alphabet should be attached to the front.
